A REPORT said that a number of governments have suffered security hacks with email information posted on the web.
Computer Sweden said that information from emails made available include the foreign ministry of Iran, Indian and Kazakhstan embassies in the US, and the Russian embassy in Sweden.
The newspaper named security consultant Dan Egerstand as the responsible party.
He came across the information by accident, and forwarded Computer Sweden an email sent by an employee of the royal court of Sweden to the Russian embassy.
Other compromised accounts include the UK visa office in Nepal, and a number of Uzbeki embassies. No details of how the hacks were performed were given.
