IN RECENT months, the amount of criticism that both Nvidia and ATI received for their respective multi-GPU concepts was just unbearable for their poor PR folk, the wee lambs.
As it turned out, Nvidia/ATi were not the only guilty parties in the whole case, but Windows Vista was implicated, too. Microsoft just posted an update for both 32- and 64-bit versions, fixing issues where operating system would not pass instructions for the 2nd GPU to the driver, meaning SLI/CrossFire would effectively work as a single chip cards.
So, Nvidia and AMD could have done whatever they liked, and their 2GPU systems would just not work. If you’re running SLI or CrossFire system and Windows Vista, you should not think twice about this one… Windows Vista, a delayed operating system nightmares are created of.

El servicio de Related Links que Google lanzó en abril del año pasado, ha sido cerrado por la compañía. Las páginas que tenían este servicio ahora simplemente mostrarán la caja de búsqueda que le llevará a Google si realiza alguna búsqueda.
La explicación que el buscador ha dado por la retirada del servicio ha sido que Related Links era un servicio que formaba parte del Google Lab y que estaban evaluándolo, como parte de su compromiso de innovación en curso.
Durante este periodo de evaluación, detectaron las funcionalidades más convincentes del programa y los integraron en productos nuevos y mejorados, como la AYAX Search API y AdSense Link Unit. Los clientes pueden usar estos productos alternativos, que ofrecen aún más flexibilidad y son más poderosos ayudando a los editores a que la información útil sea más accesible a sus usuarios.
