Microsoft to ease the swap from Vista to XP

MICROSOFT SEEMS to be making it easier for system builders to swap Vista for XP in the systems they build. Mainly, we assume, because no-one wants to buy Vista and they’re happy with XP, thank you very much.

Those Microsoft watchers at ZDNet say their source, a Vole named Ball, says the move isn’t a “ding” against Vista. Perhaps it’s a dong. Beats us.

Still, he did say that the way in which Microsoft lets customers dump Vista and choose XP is a bit complicated. So the beneVolent one is going to make it a bit easier for its “gold” partners.

The rest can wait because it’s all a bit complicated still, it seems.

Meanwhile, according to Ball, the said system builders can look forward to Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Denver in July, where they’ll be harangued left, right and centre about how good Vista is. Perhaps then they’ll learn how to persuade their customers to choose the new flop above the old established flip.
