Expertos en seguridad advierten que el iPhone de Apple deberá demostrar que es un éxito, pues tendrá a un montón de hackers y crackers intentando buscarle fallos.
Uno de los representantes de la división de seguridad de IBM, Internet Security Systems, dijo a Information Week que la gran expectación alrededor del teléfono lo convierte en objetivo prioritario.
“Va a ser un reto para los chicos malos ‘hackear’ el teléfono como hacen con el resto [smartphones] pero debido a la expectación generada, habrá un montón de gente intentándolo”, dijo Neel Mehta.
Pero dado que Apple no está informando a nadie como desarrollar aplicaciones para el teléfono, Mehta reconoce que será más difícil desarrollar gusanos y virus para atacarlo. “Será mucho más difícil desarrollar gusanos y virus para la plataforma”, dijo. Ya veremos.

No, no estamos locos. Ayer y por un momento Microsoft promocionó ante miles de usuarios la descarga de la distribución Linux Ubuntu, en su portal Windows Marketplace destinado a los productos de software, hardware y periféricos de la compañía.
La empresa de Redmond no solamente mantuvo en su catálogo un enlace para la descarga de la versión para entornos de escritorio Ubuntu 7.04, conocida como “Feisty Fawn”, si no que alabó sus virtudes destacando la calidad de la misma. Vamos, que según Microsoft “Ubuntu es perfecta”.
Recordemos que Mark Shuttleworth, máximo responsable de Ubuntu, aseguró que “nunca entrarían en conversaciones con Microsoft”, si bien otras compañías como Novell tienen acuerdos con el gigante del software respecto a Suse Linux.

Following an unconfirmed report posted on PSP Updates that the recently released 3.50 firmware for the PlayStation Portable had unlocked the full CPU potential of the handheld comes word from Shacknews that the report is legit, having verified the news with Sony Computer Entertainment. The PSP was earlier software capped at 266 MHz, largely presumed to help extend battery life.
Developers now have the option to code for the PSP’s 333 MHz processor speed, a move that will hopefully translate into better looking games running at a higher or more consistent frame rate.
Could this mean Sony is also planning on introducing a longer life battery? Does it lend more weight to rumors of a PSP redesign with decreased power consumption? I suspect we’ll hear more about this change soon, directly from Sony.
